Carbon Footprint Reporting

With an integrated and automatic carbon emissions measurement tool, we can provide shipment CO2 emissions calculations to measure shipment environmental impact along with two optional methods to offset your shipment's effect on the environment.

TNL International can provide carbon emission reporting and optional links to offset those emissions

Offering an integrated and automatic carbon emissions measurement tool takes the work out of calculating shipment carbon emissions.

Scope 3 Emissions

Scope 3 (Value Chain) emissions from transport will represent a large portion of any importer or exporter's footprint. There is growing pressure to include Scope 3 emissions when aiming for environmental certifications and claims.

Industry-Standard Calculations

Our system provides calculations aligned to the Global Logistics Emissions Council Framework (primary industry guideline for transport, certified to ISO 14083) and uses the GHG (Greenhouse Gas) Protocol. The methodology is critically assessed and continuously being improved with more emission factors and insights added.

In addition to calculating transport-related emissions, TNL International can provide opportunities to offset your carbon footprint with carbon credits or to mitigate it with a positive contribution to local tree planting.

Ask your TNL International representative about receiving your shipment carbon emissions calculation.

Carbon Emission Offsetting

Once your business has reporting on shipment carbon emissions, you have the option of following our link to either EKOS (carbon credits) or Trees That Count (native tree planting nationwide in New Zealand).

Offsetting is the action of compensating for CO2 emissions by financially supporting schemes designed to make equivalent reductions to what you have emitted. This is done by purchasing carbon credits, which represent an activity that has avoided or removed one metric tonne of carbon dioxide (or equivalent).

Carbon credits can be used to gain a certification if organisations are measuring their overall inventory and having this verified by a certifying body. TNL International is working through EKOS to offer the ability to purchase carbon credits for clients who wish to offset their transport emissions.

Our Partnership With Trees That Count

If your business doesn't have a formal emissions target or voluntary carbon claim to meet, there's another way to make a meaningful contribution to New Zealand's natural environment. TNL International has partnered with Trees That Count to give our clients the opportunity to invest directly in native restoration — funding tree planting through community organisations throughout the country.

Trees remove carbon over their lifespans (known as sequestration), as well as having other positive environmental and social impacts.
